Twitch is warning its users it may have suffered a data breach.
The Amazon-owned company said in a brief statement on its website, the company warned there may have been “unauthorized access to some Twitch user account information.”
“For your protection, we have expired passwords and stream keys and have disconnected accounts from Twitter and YouTube,” the message read.
Users will be prompted to reset their passwords at next login.
Twitch did not give any further details, nor did it say when it suspected an attack may have taken place or who may have been behind it.
Twitch was bought by Amazon last year for $970 million,closing the deal in September. The company allows users to stream video game sessions in real time. As of the time of the Amazon acquisition, the company had more than 55 millionactive monthly users.
A Twitch spokesperson declined to comment further.
